Taking advantage of the last few months, when I had some extra time, I dedicated myself to learning React and updating my "Frontender" profile.
Part of this learning process led me to explore different options and, from my point of view, the best way to do it is trial and error. That's how I got to know different ways of doing things.
I learned what a HeadlessCMS is, met Gatsby and took a couple of Wes Bos courses.
I also learned (and haven't finished implementing yet) that there are a bunch of Meta Tags to define what and how we want shared content to look.
Motivations
Without a doubt, the most important motivation behind this whole change was curiosity and the will to learn new things.
Although I'm not an expert frontend developer, after more than 8 years working in the industry, I feel I have a lot to contribute from different areas that are not limited to the User Experience world (UX).
Part of that contribution is definitely related to being able to talk with developers "as equals", and this site is part of my journey towards that.
Current stack
Right now, I'm using what is known as JAMstack. The base of the site was built with Netlify CMS and the code lives in Gitlab, since it allowed me to have private repos at no cost.
All of this "connected" through Netlify, which turned out to be the simplest service for what I wanted, including the possibility of deploying from Gitlab in a very simple way (every time I open a PR), plus having a custom domain and TLS certificates to serve my site securely.
Next steps
That said, this site is still a "testing playground", so over time my idea is to fully migrate it using what I'm learning in the Fullstack Advanced React & GraphQL course.
